KANSAS CITY, MO — The final episode of the year for At the Bench with Richard Charpentier is now live on Craft to Crumb’s website and YouTube channel.
In episode five of the audio series, Richard, CMB and CEO of consulting company Baking Innovation, connects with AJ Sarno, fourth-generation owner of Isgro Pastries in Philadelphia. Established in 1904, the family-run bakery is best known for its ricotta cookies as well as cannoli, sfogliatelle, Italian fruit-filled cookies, almond macaroons, pignoli cookies, butter cookies, torrone, biscotti and rum cake.
The pair discusses how AJ pivoted from studying biology to joining the family business, as well as AJ’s insights on current pastry trends.
