New Magnolia Bakery partnership extends reach into cosmetics

NEW YORK — Through collaborations with an assortment of companies across multiple markets, Magnolia Bakery has offered customers unexpected avenues to connect with its brand. Now, Magnolia is making a venture into the cosmetics and beauty space.

The bakery brand and Glossier announced a new limited-time release bringing together both of their flagship offerings: banana pudding and Balm Dotcom, respectively.

“With banana pudding being one of our leading flavors, it made perfect sense to team up with the iconic beauty brand to create this one-of-a-kind Balm Dotcom,” said Sara Gramling, head of brand and community at Magnolia Bakery. “As we near our 30th anniversary, we continue to explore ways our fans can enjoy the Magnolia Bakery experience through new, exciting collaborations. We’re thrilled with this new limited-edition balm that deliciously captures the sweet, playful notes of our world-famous banana pudding.”

The lip balm meshes the signature flavors of Magnolia Bakery’s banana pudding — cream, vanilla wafers and bananas — and fuses it with Glossier’s skin salve. The collaboration also includes a collectible keychain, helping customers sport the product in more ways than one.

The innovation will launch at Glossier and Sephora online and in retailers worldwide, elevating the Magnolia Bakery brand to a wider audience.

The New York bakery has previously worked with an array of companies, including GoPuffIncredible, Jenny Lemons and Studio Cult, to provide edible and wearable ways to engage with the Magnolia Bakery brand.
