HOUSTON — Shipley Do-Nuts has appointed a restaurant industry veteran to join its leadership team.
Bringing more than 25 years of marketing and operations leadership experience to the Houston-based donut brand, Bill Leibengood is stepping into the role of chief marketing officer. He has worked at various fast-casual companies, including Wingstop Restaurants, Applebee’s and Houlihan’s.
“With his deep marketing expertise, Bill will help elevate our brand storytelling through fresh, creative initiatives,” said Flynn Dekker, CEO of Shipley. “He will have significant responsibility for strengthening the authentic guest experience our customers have cherished for nearly 90 years as we expand across the country and share our Texas heritage with new communities.”
At Shipley, Bill’s focus will be on developing and implementing marketing strategies that contribute to same-store sales growth, elevating digital engagement and ensuring cohesive marketing efforts systemwide.
The donut chain is rapidly growing, having opened 35 new shops in 2025, with locations in North Carolina and Florida.
“As Shipley continues scaling, disciplined marketing will play a critical role in the company’s next phase of growth,” Bill said. “My focus will be on strengthening our marketing capabilities, sharpening our data-driven decision making and ensuring our brand continues meeting guests where they are as we amplify Shipley’s position as the premier donut and kolache destination nationwide.”
