HOUSTON — Donut franchise Shipley Do-Nuts is boosting its rapid growth trajectory with an expanded team to lead the development and 14 signed deals for 61 new store locations throughout Texas.

Keith Sizemore, senior VP of franchise development, has bolstered the expansion with two key hires — Jonathan Massey, VP of sales, and Fred Frey, director of franchise recruitment. As head of the team, Sizemore will fully oversee franchise development, ensuring a full-service approach with cost- and time-saving guidance.

“Our goal is to be substantially faster than the industry standard 12-month timeline from signing to cash registers ringing,” Sizemore said. “We have a robust development pipeline, and we want to help our franchisees get their shops open faster so they can quickly realize the power and potential of our growing brand.”

So far this year, Shipley has opened six locations in Texas and Oklahoma. However, the brand is creating a national footprint with new locations on track to open this year in Maryland, Florida, Colorado and North Carolina.

“Our growth at Shipley is being driven by existing franchisees who are taking the opportunity to open additional units and system newcomers who want to bring Shipley to new markets,” said Flynn Dekker, CEO of Shipley Do-Nuts. “Keith and his experienced team are hitting the ground running to meet our aggressive growth goals.”

In Q3 2023, Shipley opened territories for development in the Midwest, the company’s first expansion in its 88-year history. The donut company is also actively recruiting franchisees in Florida and various locations throughout the Southeast.
