SOMERSET, NJ — Retail Bakers of America (RBA) is hosting an in-person, all-day event designed to help bakery owners build more profitable and efficient businesses.
Business of Baking: Profit Strategies for Retail Bakers, supported by the Washington Red Raspberry Commission, will be held on Nov. 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Revent’s state-of-the-art Artisan Test Bakery in Somerset, NJ. The event continues the association’s Business of Baking initiative, which marks RBA’s commitment to supporting the industry with small business education and programming.
Bakers in attendance will gain insights and view baking technique demos led by industry experts.
Kristin Egan, CMB, will present “Streamline Your Bakery: How Automation and Systems Can Save Time and Boost Efficiency.” Richard Charpentier, CMB and host of Craft to Crumb’s At the Bench series, will cover “The Importance of Ingredient Sourcing and Storage for Bakers.” Attendees will then hear two different sessions, “Costing: Determining Prices and Formula Costing” and “Managing Labor Costs: Implementing Control Limits to Identify Labor Costs and Monitor Productivity”, led by Dr. Todd Keeley, who currently teaches at the Pennsylvania College of Technology.
