CHICAGO — The Retail Bakers of America (RBA) have organized two bakery tours for both members and non-members, which is set to take place on Oct. 8 in Chicago. The tours will be immediately followed by a Guildhall Gathering hosted by the Bread Bakers Guild of America (BBGA).
Starting at 11:30 a.m. CT, the bakery tours will include:
- Floriole Cafe & Bakery: Participants will get to tour this rustic, French-inspired bakery known for its commitment to high-quality, local ingredients. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet the owner and Jean Banchet Award-winning pastry chef, Sandra Holl.
- Loba Pastry + Coffee: The 2024 James Beard Awards semifinalist bakery was founded by Valeria Lindsten, a finalist for Pastry Chef of the Year at the 2024 Jean Banchet Awards. The tour will be led by Valeria’s skilled sous chef.
After the tours, participants can wrap up the day with BBGA at Pelican Quality Bread and enjoy snacks, drinks and networking opportunities with fellow bakers.
