NEW YORK — In coordination with the Bread Bakers Guild of America (BBGA), BagelUp, a trade organization for the global bagel industry, will be hosting an in-person class focused on creating New York-style bagels.

This hands-on session will be led by Reva Castillenti, award-winning bagel maker and owner of Small Good Bakery in Brooklyn, NY, and Sam Silverman, founder of BagelUp. The event promotes connection and collaboration as groups practice crafting bagels from start to finish.

During the session, the following topics will be presented:

  • DIY Bagel Making: Roll, boil, seed and bake New York-style bagels.
  • Straight from the Oven: Enjoy freshly baked creations with a range of spreads, including various cream cheeses.
  • Take Home the Magic: Take home a dozen bagels, and BagelUp’s bagel recipe to recreate the experience in your home kitchens.
  • Dive into History: Discover how the classic bagel became an iconic food.
  • Behind-the-Scenes Tour: Get an immersive experience of the bagel shop.

The event will be held July 15 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Bagel Market at 264 West 40th Street in New York City. All profits from the class will be donated to the BBGA.
