BakeSmart streamlines custom order process with new tool

INDIANAPOLIS — BakeSmart announced the launch of Order Inquiries, a highly requested new feature built directly into the BakeSmart Platform. The tool is designed to solve the significant administrative task load associated with selling custom cakes, cookies, cupcakes and more.

For many retail bakeries, custom orders are a highly profitable revenue stream, but they are costly due to customer communication and the manual tracking of details. The hours spent sending emails, tracking inspiration photos, and managing the details before a quote is approved represent a massive drain of time and resources.

“Custom orders drive revenue for so many bakeries, but the administrative chaos behind them often eats into profits,” said Mike Clements, CEO at BakeSmart. “Order Inquiries cuts through that chaos by turning scattered conversations into a clean, centralized three-step process. It finally gives bakeries a way to sell custom cakes without losing margin.”

The Order Inquiries form, outlined below, streamlines the entire workflow inside the BakeSmart system.

  1. Customer submits their inquiry and uses a dedicated link on the bakery’s website to submit the initial request and send inspiration photos.
  2. The bakery team is instantly notified and uses a dedicated messaging thread within the BakeSmart Platform to respond, clarify details and answer questions. When ready, the bakery team can easily generate and send a professional proposal that includes final pricing and notes.
  3. When the customer accepts the digital proposal, it automatically converts into a confirmed, scheduled order that flows seamlessly into the bakery’s standard BakeSmart order system and production queue.

The new tool provides instant, centralized oversight for the entire sales team, minimizing data entry and eliminating uncertainty regarding custom order status, keeping customers happy and bakers on schedule.
