HOUSTON — Gourmet donut chain Shipley Do-Nuts is helping fight food insecurity by hosting a Donut Dash, set for Oct. 18 at Sam Houston Race Park.
The family-friendly event will feature 5K and 10K races with proceeds benefiting Kids’ Meals, a non-profit dedicated to combating childhood hunger in the Houston area.
“This will be the most delicious run of the year, and we look forward to seeing running clubs, families and friends join us at the Sam Houston Race Park for a fun day in support of a great cause,” said Flynn Dekker, CEO of Shipley Do-Nuts.
All attendees will receive a donut-inspired race shirt, a finisher medal and complimentary Shipley Do-Nuts along the route, while supplies last.
“This event combines our love for our hometown with our commitment to helping end childhood hunger in Houston,” Dekker said. “Plus, there’s no better way to fuel up for a race than with fresh Shipley Do-Nuts.”
