NEW YORK — Orwashers Bakery, a century-old New York City bake shop offering handmade artisan breads, announced its newly formed partnership with flour mill company Farmer Direct Foods (FDF).

The partnership will integrate FDF’s regenerative, stone-ground flour into the bakery’s flagship breads, including heritage sourdough, baguette, focaccia and bialy.

“At Orwashers, we’ve been rooted in New York history for nearly 110 years, carrying forward recipes and traditions that have nourished generations,” said Keith Cohen, owner of Orwashers.  “Partnering with FDF felt like a natural next chapter — working with a mill that shares our passion for heritage and supports American family farms. Their flour doesn’t just perform beautifully — it has a story and a soul.”

Baldor Specialty Foods, a premium food distributor in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, played a pivotal role in uniting Orwashers and FDF.

Earlier this summer, FDF added Signature Baking Co. in Dallas to its bakery portfolio.
