KANSAS CITY, MO — McLain’s Bakery, a staple of the Kansas City, MO, community, announced its official partnership with 1587 Prime, the newly opened restaurant co-founded by Kansas City Chiefs players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce in collaboration with Noble 33.
The partnership was created when Scavuzzos, a local Kansas City food purveyor, initiated the conversation in the planning stages of 1587’s menu. When it came to desserts, McLain’s was a prime candidate.
“1587 Prime chose to source desserts from local providers, including us at McLain’s Bakery,” said Mollie Lothman, co-owner of McLain’s. “Over a series of several tastings and conversations, we landed on providing five McLain’s desserts to use on their menu.”
The restaurant will now carry the bakery’s renowned carrot cake, chocolate cake, cheesecake and apple pie, slightly altered in size to provide a curated 1587 Prime experience separate from the bakery. McLain’s also provided an exclusive butter cake for the restaurant, offering a branded twist on Noble 33’s signature dessert served at several of its concepts.
“It’s been a fun experience getting to partner with the biggest Kansas City restaurant opening in 2025,” Mollie said. “We have really enjoyed working with Noble 33 and 1587 Prime. Our team has worked hard to provide what they need, altering quantities as needed with the high demand and interest 1587 has created.”
Partnering with 1587 Prime isn’t the bakery’s first foray into celebrating the NFL team. McLain’s has crafted several seasonal items dedicated to the team, including its Andy Reid-inspired cake and shareable team-colored desserts.
