KANSAS CITY, MO — In honor of the Fourth of July, retail bakeries are spicing up their menus with holiday-themed baked goods.

Krispy Kreme
The Charlotte, NC, donut brand rolled out new festive flavors and brought back customer favorites in anticipation of the holiday.
For a limited time at participating locations, Krispy Kreme’s Star Spangled Sweetness Collection includes three patriotic donuts in a custom red, white and blue box. The three donuts available are:
Firework Cookies and Kreme Filled Doughnut: This new offering features an unglazed donut filled with Cookies and Kreme, dipped in red icing and decorated with a blue icing swirl and rocket candy piece.
Cotton Candy Sparkler Doughnut: A second new offering, this donut features an Original Glazed donut dipped in blue icing and cotton candy sugar and decorated with white and red buttercream dollops.
Freedom Flag Doughnut: The returning favorite features an Original Glazed donut dipped in white icing and decorated with red icing stripes and blue and gold sprinkles.
Participating Krispy Kreme shops are also offering a free Original Glazed donut to guests who wear red, white, and blue on July 4.
Dolce Bakery
This Prairie Village, KS, bakery has a wide array of holiday offerings, from cakes to fruit tarts to cookie sandwiches.
A few highlights from the themed menu include:
Fresh Fruit Tart Flag: The little tarts, arranged in the shape of the American flag, include a vanilla graham mini shell, vanilla pastry cream filling and fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries.
Patriotic Confetti Cookie Sandwiches: This offering includes brown sugar cookies with sprinkles sandwiched together with vanilla cream cheese icing.
Fresh Fruit Old Fashioned Cookies: The bakery adapted its popular Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies topped with vanilla cream cheese icing and strawberries, raspberries and blueberries.
Fresh Fruit Lemon Cake: The cake is comprised of layers of bright lemon cake with lemon curd, vanilla cream cheese icing scraped on the outside and fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries.
Pinkbox Doughnuts
This Las Vegas bakery created a special line-up of donuts to celebrate the holiday. The festive selection will be available for a limited time July 4-5.
The nine donuts in this lineup are:
American Pee Weez: Glazed vanilla cake Pee Weez with stars and stripes sprinkles.
American Tie Dye: Red, white and blue marble frosted raised ring donut.
American Flag: White frosted raised bar filled with chocolate whip and topped with red, white, and blue flag décor.
Hot Dawg: Glazed raised bar topped with chocolate buttercream and drizzled with yellow and red frosting.
Watermelon: Pink frosted pink velvet cake topped with watermelon décor.
It’s Ya Birthday: White frosted raised shell filled with birthday cake whip and topped with blonde OREO and stars and stripes decor.
American Pooh: Chocolate cake topped with chocolate buttercream, covered with chocolate icing with stars and stripes sprinkles.
American Pinky: Vanilla cake topped with pink buttercream, covered in pink icing with candy decor and an American Flag.
American Vegan: Cherry frosted raised vegan shell topped with white whip and stars and stripes sprinkles.

The small, artisanal bakery is based in San Antonio and Austin, TX, and specializes in pastries, macarons, cakes and breakfast pastries.
To celebrate July 4, the bakery has created custom-made pies, including:
July 4th Apple Pie: A 9-inch pie made with five different types of apples and decorated with stars and stripes crust elements.
Buttermilk Pie: A 9-inch pie made with tangy buttermilk custard and topped with fresh blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and blackberries.
