LOS ANGELES — Voodoo Doughnut, the Portland, OR-based purveyor of innovative and imaginative donuts, opened its highly anticipated Melrose location in Los Angeles April 1. Grand opening festivities included a specialty LA donut created for the first 50 customers.

“We’re excited to make our mark in such an iconic neighborhood,” said Chris Schultz, CEO of Voodoo Doughnut. “Melrose and La Brea is the perfect place for us to bring our bold flavors and creative energy.”

The brand’s new pink building on the corner of La Brea and Melrose brings Angelenos access its iconic pink boxes, spinning donut cases filled with more than 40 kitschy creations, and all the flair Voodoo Doughnut is known for nationally.

This marks a milestone for Voodoo Doughnut’s California coast expansion plans. The bakery brand plans to open a third LA location in Venice Beach in the coming months
