HOUSTON — Shipley Do-Nuts is branching out of the traditional donut category with a twist on New Orleans’ famous beignets: YAYs.

Available through April for a limited time, YAYs are made fresh with the brand’s signature yeast dough. The beignet-inspired treats are fried and then shaken in powdered sugar.

“Since Houston is known as New Orleans’ sister city, it’s only right that Shipley offers our twist on Louisiana’s official state donut with a new snack-sized treat,” said Kaitlyn Venable, director of culinary for Shipley Do-Nuts. “Made fresh daily, our mouthwatering new YAYs offer our unique take on the classic favorite, delivering a light, airy and sweet treat perfect for any time of day.”

The brand introduced the new product in time for Mardi Gras, providing customers with holiday-inspired treats to celebrate.

Customers can purchase YAYs in a variety of pack sizes, including four for $2, 12 for $5 and 24 for $10.

Last year, Shipley Do-Nuts debuted its first-ever holiday menu featuring limited-edition candy cane-inspired offerings.
