HOUSTON — Shipley Donuts is making its Michigan debut by joining the local businesses in Downtown Detroit through a 15-unit franchise agreement with Hole Lotta Dough, LLC.
The agreement will bring Shipley Donuts to multiple counties across the metro. The first location is targeted for late Q1 2027, with an additional three shops per year over the next four years, resulting in 15 new stores over a five-year development period.
Based in Auburn Hills, MI, Hole Lotta Dough is run by a team of seasoned operators who have more than 20 years of experience in the city’s c-store industry. The business is diversifying its portfolio by being Shipley’s first Michigan franchise partner.
“Hole Lotta Dough brings the local expertise and Houston-to-Detroit connections to bring Shipley to life the right way in a brand-new market,” said Flynn Dekker, CEO of Shipley Donuts. “This partnership is a testament to our franchise growth strategy, and we’re excited to introduce Detroit communities to the fresh donuts and kolaches that have brought people together for generations.”
To keep the essence of the Houston donut shop, Shipley will also introduce its Texas kolaches alongside its lineup of more than 60 donut varieties.
This agreement marks a major milestone for Shipley Donuts as the brand celebrates its 90th birthday by expanding beyond its Houston roots.
