WESTLAKE, OH — Heading into the new year, Retail Bakers of America (RBA) has a full lineup of educational opportunities for its members.

See what the association has to offer to kick off 2025.

New Member Orientation

Jan. 9 | 3-4 p.m. ET | Virtual

In this interactive session, new and recent RBA members can learn about the benefits of their membership. This includes insights on the member systems, ways to connect with RBA’s baker community and making the most of being a member.

Post-Holiday Bakery Happy Hour: Reflections & Refreshments

Jan. 16 | 6-7 p.m. ET | Virtual

Following a hectic holiday season, connect with other bakery professionals in a casual setting hosted by Jesse Jackson III, CMB. The virtual event is free for RBA members and $20 for non-members.

Beyond the Bench: The Next Generation of Bakers

Jan. 21 | 4-5:30 p.m. | Virtual

Held in partnership with the Bread Bakers Guild of America, a panel of young bakers discuss what the next generation values most and how employers can create a successful team and work environment. Panelists for this free event include Jen Heide, CBB; Val Kertesz; and Taylor Craft.

IBIE Exhibitor Summit

Jan. 22 | 11 a.m.-5 p.m. PT | Las Vegas

The pre-show event, to be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, offers insider tips on booth setup, logistics, attracting audiences, lead generation and strategies for working with vendors.

How to Navigate the Seasons: Strategies for Seasonal Bakery Success

Jan. 30 | 4-5 p.m. ET | Virtual

Finding a balance between busy and slow seasons can be challenging. In this virtual education session, a panel of leaders from successful seasonal bakeries share their strategies for managing staff and labor costs, designing menus and campaigns to drive revenue year-round, and navigating operational challenges.

The panel features Matt Ratliff, Amy Clauser and RBA president Amie Smith.

RBA Certification | Practical Test: CB & CMB

Jan. 31-Feb. 2 | Johnson & Wales | Charlotte, NC

The practical test for the certified baker and certified master baker is part of the association’s certification program. Recognized as a standard for excellence in skills and knowledge, the certification increases job opportunities and boosts income.
