WESTPORT, CT — PopUp Bagels announced plans for nationwide expansion with an advanced franchising strategy. The brand will bring its fresh-from-the-oven bagel concept to major US markets with various locations set to pop up across the country.
As of Sept. 30, the brand also named Tory Bartlett as its new CEO. He succeeds PopUp Bagels’ founder Adam Goldberg, who will now serve as chief brand officer.
The move to franchise comes on the heels of the conclusion of the bakery brand’s Series B funding round earlier this year.
“PopUp Bagels has something truly special, and I’m excited to lead the brand through this next phase of national expansion,” Bartlett said. “With a strong foundation already in place, my focus is on scaling thoughtfully while preserving the high quality and uniqueness that set PopUp Bagels apart.”
Tory brings extensive brand growth, franchising and operational strategy expertise to the role. Prior to joining PopUp Bagels, he served in leadership roles at Schlotzsky’s and Southern Proper Hospitality and as chief brand officer at Moe’s Southwest Grill.
“Tory’s experience in driving growth through franchising makes him the ideal leader for PopUp Bagels as we expand,” Goldberg said. “His strategic vision aligns perfectly with our plans to scale while maintaining the quality and culture that set us apart.”
