ERIE, CO — In celebration of National Honey Month, the National Honey Board rebooted its Honey Saves Hives campaign, designed to connect beekeepers, food manufacturers, retail bakers, chefs and foodies by celebrating the importance of honey and honeybees.

Now in its fifth year, the campaign partnered with 26 popular retail bakeries across the US to add special made-with-honey items to their menus during September. The products will be featured on social media channels, highlighting the versatility of honey across various baked goods nationwide.

A few participating bakeries crafting honey-infused offerings include:

Norimoto Bakery | Portland, ME — This bakery — which was recently dubbed the winner of the Outstanding Pastry Chef or Baker category at the James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards — is known for its authentic European baking and Japanese-inspired artisanal offerings.

Starter Bakery | Berkeley, CA — After 12 years of wholesale, farmers markets and online sales, this bakery expanded into retail last year with its first flagship store. Starter Bakery offers a vast assortment of new pastries and reworked favorites, but the bakery is most notably known for its kouign amann and Cardamom Pistachio Twist.

King Arthur Baking Co. Bakery | Norwich, VT  — This bakery offers premier artisan bread, pastries, cakes, cookies, pies and creative seasonal specialties using local products from its retail store. Earlier this year, King Arthur Baking created an accelerator program for bakers of color, partnering with Project Potluck to create the inaugural Baking Pitchfest.
