NEW YORK — This year marks the 30th anniversary of Levain Bakery, which has grown from a small Manhattan bread shop to a cookie brand with 16 bakeries across the US.

“We can hardly believe it’s been 30 years already,” said Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald, co-founders of Levain Bakery. “What started as our tiny bread bakery has grown into something beyond our wildest expectations. It has been incredible to watch Levain grow while remaining a neighborhood bakery.”

As part of the celebration, Levain is bringing back its Lemon Cookie. The citrusy seasonal cookie, which debuted in 2024, is available at all Levain locations and on the bakery’s website for online ordering.

To mark the occasion, the bakery is also continuing its growth trajectory in 2025 with an array of new bakeries in existing markets.

Levain’s new location in Venice, CA, will open on April 4, and a third California location is in the works to open in Beverly Hills later this year. In Chicago, a third bakery is set to open in Lincoln Park, joining the Levain stores in River North and West Loop.

The 30th anniversary celebration continues with a capsule collection with Dinner Service NY, a New York streetwear brand that partners with other brands for exclusive collections. The line features three apparel items inspired by the Levain brand available on the bakery website and in limited supply at its brick-and-mortar locations.

Throughout the year, the bakery will continue to offer unique celebration moments for its milestone anniversary.
