MADISON, WI — In honor of Food Safety Education Month, observed each September, the International Dairy Deli Bakery Association (IDDBA) is offering a variety of interactive ways for food manufacturers to learn more about safe food practices.

“Food safety is essential every day, and September is the perfect time to remind our community of best practices while offering tools that are both educational and interactive,” said Michele Tietyen, industry relations and education coordinator for IDDBA.

To reach manufacturers, IDDBA is rolling out several initiatives, including an episode of the What’s in Store podcast featuring Gary Wills, global director for consumer, retail and food for the Americas at BSI, covering everything from myth-busting to the habits and systems that keep food safe across different industry segments.

On its website, the association is hosting various webinars on the topic; launching the IDDBot Food Safety Chatbot to help address common food safety questions; and providing a Food Safety Bingo card to inspire leaders to connect with their teams on the topic in an engaging fashion.

“Through our podcasts, webinars, chatbot, and even games, we aim to make food safety accessible and engaging for everyone,” Tietyen said.
