WASHINGTON, DC — H&H Bagels, first founded in 1972 in Manhattan’s Upper West Side, extends its reach further with the opening of its first Washington, DC, storefront.
The Mount Vernon Triangle shop will open June 12, bringing the brand’s signature New York-style bagels, menu offerings and catering boxes to a new market. To celebrate the new bakery, H&H is giving away tote bags to the first 200 customers with gift cards ranging from $5-$100.
“We could not be more excited to bring our New York City bagels to the Nation’s Capital,” said Jay Rushin, CEO of H&H Bagels. “The location is fantastic, and we think Washingtonians will really enjoy the space and, of course, our bagels.”
The Washington, DC, location’s daily operating hours will be 6 a.m.-4 p.m.
H&H’s vast expansion has been in the works since June 2023, when the fast-casual bagel brand announced plans to open 10 franchise-owned locations in and around Washington, DC.
Rushin, who has served as CEO since 2014, drove the revamp of H&H’s branding as well as the franchise model launch. In March 2024, the brand signed a franchise development agreement for 50 shops.
