MIDDLESEX, NJ — MIWE America, a Germany-based manufacturer of bakery equipment, took its Middlesex, NJ, headquarters to the next level with the opening of its live baking center (LBC).
The fully operational demo bakery — modeled on the company’s original LBC located at its global headquarters in Arnstein, Germany — provides a space for customers to work on recipes and test out various full-size ovens and automated solutions. By experimenting with MIWE’s range of solutions prior to installation, bakers can help determine if these investments are fitting for their specialty offerings, throughput goals and more.
The LBC’s equipment includes the econo convection oven, the FreshBakeCenter Model in-store baking station, the condo electrically heated steam deck oven and an assortment of auxiliary equipment. This center will also showcase myriad technological advances from MIWE, including optitherm fine temperature control, the flexbake automated quality control, automated cleaning systems, and the SK-M steam condenser.
There’s more on the horizon for the LBC, with plans to install additional production baking ovens, loading systems, proofer-retarders and other refrigeration technologies.
