NEW YORK — In collaboration with Tabasco, Baked by Melissa launched a new line of “swicy” bite-sized cupcakes to kick off Valentine’s Day.
The collaboration amplifies the flavor trend, pairing chocolate notes with the subtle spicy kick of Tabasco in an assortment of combinations.
“Our bite-size cupcakes are the perfect treat to celebrate all of life’s moments,” said Melissa Ben-Ishay, co-founder and CEO of Baked by Melissa. “We wanted to spice things up for Valentine’s Day, so we developed new flavors that nod to how opposites attract. Together with the most legendary hot sauce brand, we created a cupcake assortment perfect for gifting to anyone in your life who balances you — the spice to your sweet.”
The limited-edition spicy cupcakes are offered as a duo, including a red velvet cake with a Tabasco sauce infusion, topped with cream cheese and Tabasco icing and adorned with white chocolate brittle and sprinkles; and a Triple Chocolate Fudge cupcake, which combines chocolate cake, Hershey’s fudge filling and chocolate icing and chips.
The Baked by Melissa and Tabasco mini cupcakes are available in both 6- and 25- count packages. The 25-pack is available both online and in stores, while the 6-pack cupcakes are only available in-store.
