MIAMI — Vicky Bakery, a South Florida family-owned Cuban bakery, named Mauricio Romero as its new CEO.

The announcement comes at a time when the bakery is experiencing record growth, double-digit revenue gains, multiple openings of new locations and strategic investments. Former CEO Alex Santiago will join the board of directors, where he will continue to help shape the franchise company’s future.

With a 40-year career in the restaurant franchise industry, Romera has filled a variety of executive roles. Most recently, he served as the fractional COO of LA EEBI, a franchise business consulting firm that works with a range of restaurants in the fast casual space.
