LOS ANGELES — After shuttering late last year, Sweet Lady Jane is back in operation under new leadership.

Julie Ngu, third-generation baker and CEO of Pacific French Bakery, and her business partner Matt Clark acquired the California bakery along with its brick-and-mortar locations, intellectual property, recipes, branding and more on Feb. 16.

Since, Julie, now CEO of Sweet Lady Jane, has put in the work to reopen the bakeries in Santa Monica, Calabasas, Encino and Beverly Hills. According to the bakery’s social media pages, the Melrose and Larchmont locations are in the works. To staff these locations, Julie has also rehired more than 20 former employees and is encouraging those who would like to return to the bakery to apply.

Due to the abrupt closure of the bakery in December, Julie is also honoring Sweet Lady Jane gift cards purchased in 2023 through May 4 at the brick-and-mortar shop.

As the brand reboots the bakery locations, Sweet Lady Jane is limited to walk-in service at this time.
