PHILADELPHIA — Passengers traveling through the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) will now find an Insomnia Cookies location nestled in the queue of shops.

By opening its first-ever airport location, the cookie chain is bringing its warm cookies and late-night hours to a wider swath of customers, including regional, national and international travelers. The location will include some of the brand’s most popular flavors, including Double Chocolate Chunk, Confetti Deluxe and White Chocolate Macadamia. Insomnia’s “Cookies IN Ice Cream,” brookies and Cookie’wiches — Insomnia’s cookie-filled take on the classic ice cream sandwich — will also be available at this shop.

“Insomnia Cookies was born in a UPenn dorm room 22 years ago, so opening our first airport bakery at PHL feels like a full-circle moment,” said Seth Berkowitz, founder and CEO of Insomnia Cookies. “We’re thrilled to bring warm, delicious, fresh-baked cookies to travelers from around the world as we continue our US and global expansion.”

Insomnia will also offer passengers exclusive Philadelphia-themed merchandise such as sweatshirts and water bottles. The bakery’s addition is part of PHL Food & Shops’ ongoing “Founded in Philly” program, celebrating shops, restaurants and products that originated in the city.

“It’s a sweet treat indeed to welcome Insomnia Cookies to PHL, bringing passengers a true original from Philly’s local food scene,” said Mel Hannah, VP and GM of MarketPlace PHL. “Perfect for late-night cravings or just a sugary send-off, Insomnia personifies the passion and innovation that defines our city, and we’re proud to share it with our travelers day and night.”

In addition to the new location, Insomnia released two new cookies, delivering indulgent flavor with pumped-up protein. The new flavors include Loaded Cookie Butter Deluxe and Double Chocolate Cookie Dough Deluxe, the former boasting 11 grams of protein, the latter 10. Both new varieties are available while supplies last.
