PROVIDENCE, RI — The Bread Bakers Guild of America (BBGA) is bringing a familiar face to the top of its board of directors, appointing Kobla Asamoah to take over the position of chair for the 2026-28 term.
“His commitment to equity, thoughtful growth, and strong professional networks aligns closely with the Guild’s mission to advance the craft and business of artisan baking,” the association said in an announcement on Instagram.
Formerly serving as the board’s treasurer, Asamoah brings deep experience in food business development, entrepreneurship and community leadership to the role. Throughout his career, he’s strengthened bakery businesses, expanded access to resources and supported founders as they built sustainable companies.
Through his work at Hot Bread Kitchen, an organization dedicated to supporting New Yorkers who face barriers to economic opportunities, Asamoah has helped to grow an opportunity-rich community, opening access points to the food industry workforce.
Now, as managing partner of Caminus Ventures and chair of the BBGA, he plans to continue that work.
“I’m migrating towards the capital side of things, and there are some interesting venture funds committed to equity within the lens of food and food business,” Asamoah said to BBGA on his transition from Hot Bread Kitchen to Caminus Ventures. “They’re investing in innovative food concepts, food technologies in agriculture and addressing the lack of diversity within entrepreneurship, particularly in the food space.”
