BBGA holds Hearthside Chats for June Bread Celebration

CRANSTON, RI — The Bread Bakers Guild of America (BBGA) is hosting a series of virtual education events in honor of its June Bread Celebration. These sessions are donated by the instructor with proceeds directly benefiting the BBGA’s program, members and mission.

The Hearthside Chats are hour-long Zoom sessions held with baking experts from an array of disciplines.

Grace Garay and Amy Halloran | June 20 at 5:00 p.m. EST

Garay, owner and founder of Nomad Bakehouse in Orlando, and Halloran, a writer, teacher, cook and flour ambassador, will discuss how Garay manages her cottage bakery operation, what success means to her and more.

Apollonia Poilâne and Kristine Borok | June 26 at 12:00 p.m. EST

Borok, BBGA board member and COO of Hot Bread Kitchen, and Poilâne, baker and CEO of Parisian bakery  , will chat about maintaining and breaking tradition, and inspiring a love of the bread baking craft in bakery teams and customers.

Jeffrey Hamelman and Karen Bornarth | June 28 at 5:00 p.m. EST

BBGA executive director Bornarth will speak with Hamelman, author of Bread, to discuss efficiency in bakery productions and operations, maintaining quality, educating bakers, and making an impact through bread.

Pricing for each session is $25 for BBGA members and $35 for non-members. The full list of BBGA’s virtual events can be found on the association’s website.
