KANSAS CITY, MO — Avant Food Media, publisher of Commercial Baking and Craft to Crumb, has released its 2025 Impact Report.

The report, which debuted in 2023, showcases the company’s social and environmental impact across key industry metrics. From the section on its Industry Innovator program to its detailed Sapling Program partnership, this year’s report underscores Avant’s commitment to setting a positive example for the industry.

“I couldn’t be prouder of the work we’re doing here,” said Jordan Winter, creative director and Impact Committee lead of Avant Food Media. “We’re really using our platform to uplift the good things that are happening in our industry and our world. Being forward-thinking is a critical part of the Avant brand, and we’re living up to that by telling stories that will help create a better future, from sharing trends in regenerative agriculture to exploring innovative practices like open hiring.”

In this year’s report, readers will find exclusive coverage on Chabaso Bakery, the 2025 Social Impactor of the Year celebrated in Commercial Baking’s 2025 Innovations Annual, and snippets from “Bakers Doing Good,” a feature in every Craft to Crumb mini-mag that shines a light on how retail bakers give back to their communities.

Under the report’s sustainability section, Avant highlights its ongoing partnership with the National Forest Foundation (NFF), through which the company funds the planting of one tree for every print ad sold in Commercial Baking magazine. In 2024, the company helped plant 312 trees.

“We keep getting better year after year,” Winter said. “This year, we helped plant 416 trees — a 33 percent increase from last year.”

Avant’s Impact Report also highlights its monetary support for Church World Service, a global humanitarian organization dedicated to fighting poverty and assisting refugees, as well as information on how the team used its distinct media platform to share knowledge on crucial industry topics through presentations at the 2025 International Baking Industry Exposition.

“Impact isn’t just a one-year effort,” Winter concluded. “This report is both a reflection of how far we’ve come and a roadmap for where we’re going.”
