WASHINGTON, DC — The IBIE World Bread Awards USA, originally scheduled for Oct. 7-8, 2024, will now be held during the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) 2025.
The decision to move the awards was made with participants in mind. As the leading global event for the baking industry, IBIE 2025 will bolster the awards with its unique platform that attracts a broader, more diverse range of participants.
This year’s event was set to include several educational sessions and demos for participants focused on the local grain economy, flatbreads and levain, the science of sourdough, and profitable investing.
Moving the World Bread Awards to IBIE 2025 allows enhanced competition with the ability to spotlight talent across the industry.
“While the quality of entries for the 2024 awards has been outstanding, we recognize that the additional time and larger venue will allow for an even more comprehensive celebration of the skills and creativity that define the baking community,” said Samantha Moore, director of trade show operations for IBIE. “Our goal is to ensure the World Bread Awards USA continues to uphold its reputation for excellence and provides an inclusive, competitive experience for all involved.”
The awards will be featured as a segment of IBIE’s Artisan Village, providing attendees with unparalleled networking opportunities with top artisan bakers and the ability to engage in live demonstrations and tastings.
The panel of judges for the 2024 event will return in 2025. Registered participants for the 2024 event will be refunded in full. As a gesture of appreciation, this year’s participants will receive a 50% discount on their IBIE 2025 registration fees and one complimentary entry to the World Bread Awards USA competition next year.
