VANCOUVER — Fumie Meguro, founder of Ef and Be Bakehouse, started the bakery to celebrate her culture with her best friend and business partner, Bowie.
The bakery, which specializes in handcrafted treats paying homage to Meguro’s Japanese heritage, has become known for its Matcha White Chocolate Mochi Cookies. The product twists together the flavors of matcha and white chocolate, wrapping it within the chewy mochi-stuffed cookie.
The decadent treats are a traditional Japanese rice pastry, typically served cold. With its bold flavors, the cookie has become an afternoon pick-me up for customers because it mimics the popular morning beverage. The cookies are sold in packs of two.
