FORT LAUDERDALE — Bagels & Co., a bakery cafe brand known for its Brooklyn-style bagels and innovative cream cheese offerings, is broadening its reach beyond Philadelphia with plans to open 20 more locations.

“Our initial expansion will be in Florida and Pennsylvania which we believe offers incredible growth opportunities for the Bagels & Co. brand,” said Derek Gibbons, COO of Philadelphia restaurant group Glu Hospitality. “Our future plans call for expanding beyond that to several states and eventually a national rollout.”

Gibbons is leading the expansion alongside Mike Marsh, a former investment banker and venture capitalist who helped Bagels & Co. raise millions in funding to take the brand to a national level. The company currently has four locations in Philadelphia with plans to open three more in 2023. Eight locations are also set to open in South Florida.

“Bagels & Co. is a true neighborhood cafe that appeals to everyone, whether you are on your way to work or school, grabbing a quick bite, coming home from a workout or spending time with the family, we are ready to serve, and all of our sandwiches are fresh and made-to-order,” Marsh said.
